Megan Kemp BN&D(Hons)
Dietitian
Megan is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, graduating from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours Class 1).
Megan brings a strong passion for paediatric nutrition, which is driven by her previous engagements as a swimming lesson teacher and private child carer. When working with families, Megan aims to empower parents with the knowledge and tools they need to support their child’s growth and well-being—both now and in the years to come. She takes a food-first approach, assessing each child’s eating competency skills to tailor interventions that feel supportive rather than overwhelming. Megan works closely with children and their families, ensuring that strategies align with what a child can manage without pressure to progress beyond their readiness.
Her sessions are designed to be fun and interactive, often incorporating real foods to help children explore and build their understanding of food in a way that fosters confidence and trust. She supports children in tuning into their body’s natural hunger and fullness cues, helping them recognise that food is not just fuel but also a source of energy for learning, play, and enjoyment.
Megan also understands the challenges parents face around mealtimes and works to provide practical, budget-friendly solutions that reduce stress rather than add to it. She supports parents in navigating common mealtime struggles, offering realistic strategies that make mealtimes more enjoyable for the whole family.
Her approach is grounded in empathy and expertise, ensuring that families feel supported in making food and nutrition a positive and sustainable part of their daily lives.
Additionally, Megan is also interested in women’s health and is eager to support the nutritional well-being of women with endometriosis, PCOS and throughout pregnancy.
Megan grew up in a small country town in NSW and strongly values a holistic approach to nutritional health. She has a deep understanding of the uniqueness of everyone’s situation and strives to work with her clients to create individualised care plans that are achievable for all involved. Megan practices in line with the Health at Every Size and Non-Diet approach and aims to provide all clients with practical strategies that can integrate seamlessly into their current lifestyle
When not at work, Megan can be found playing tennis with her friends, supporting the Bulldogs in the NRL or exploring a new coffee shop.
Megan believes every meal is an opportunity to make a positive impact and is excited to work together to achieve your goals at Optimum Intake Dietitians.
