Caitlin Fuchs BA N&D, APD
Dietitian
Caitlin is a caring and compassionate Dietitian and a dedicated member of the Aged Care Team at Optimum Intake. She strives to empower older adults to reach and maintain their health goals through an evidence-based, client-focused approach rooted in wellness and reablement principles. Caitlin is passionate about providing clients with the education and skills necessary to foster independence, enhance quality of life, and bring enjoyment back into mealtimes.
With a commitment to simplifying nutrition information, Caitlin takes an individualised approach to care, adapting nutrition advice to each person’s preferences, lifestyle, and capabilities. This ensures that the changes she suggests are both sustainable and empowering, helping clients remain active participants in their own care. Caitlin’s dedication to promoting independence aligns closely with reablement principles, which focus on doing “with” rather than doing “for” clients, encouraging them to build on their strengths and gain confidence in their ability to manage their health and nutrition.
Caitlin is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and a full member of Dietitians Australia, having graduated from The University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours). She embraces a Health at Every Size and Non-Diet approach, fostering a positive, holistic relationship with food for her clients. Her areas of expertise include malnutrition, chronic disease management (such as diabetes), and general healthy aging, all aimed at improving her clients’ ability to live well, independently, and with dignity.
Caitlin works closely with families and healthcare providers to ensure a collaborative approach, advocating for her clients and prioritising their safety and satisfaction. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, running, cooking, and Pilates with friends.
Caitlin looks forward to building strong, positive relationships with the local older adult community, supporting them on their journey to improved health, independence, and a fulfilling relationship with food.
