She is a strong advocate for meals being more than simply food on a plate, she knows food can be more meaningful than just the nutritional quality alone, it can promote social connectedness, lift a person’s mood by igniting memories of years gone past and much more.
Holly advises Aged Care Facilities on nutritional governance, policies and procedures in addition to educating staff and acting as a supportive voice for the consumer.
Holly takes a collaborative approach with all her nutritional assessments, planning and recommendations. Ensuring that all people involved in the resident’s care (staff, food services and family) have the ability to contribute information, express ideas and issues, to form a personalised nutritional treatment plan, ongoing implementation, support and monitoring through her review process.
Holly is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and a member of Dietitians Australia. Holly graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics and joined the Optimum Intake team in 2021.
She is extremely passionate about assisting clients from different backgrounds and health conditions. She is particularly interested in; diabetes, cardiovascular disease, women’s health and optimising nutrition in the elderly.
