Kaila Ronan BA N&D(Hons
Dietitian

Kaila is a compassionate and dedicated Dietitian with the Community Aged Care Team at Optimum Intake. She is committed to providing personalised, evidence-based care that not only enhances nutrition but also aligns with the wellness and reablement philosophy to promote the overall wellbeing and independence of older adults.

Central to Kaila’s approach is her commitment to wellness and reablement principles, which focus on empowering her clients to maintain autonomy, build confidence, and improve quality of life through nutrition. Kaila strives to build genuine, trusting relationships with her clients and their families, taking the time to understand each individual’s unique preferences, needs, and goals. She works with clients as active participants in their care, supporting them to achieve their nutrition and wellness goals rather than doing tasks for them. Kaila’s approach focuses on client strengths, helping each person build skills and knowledge to maintain independence, whether it’s through understanding the role of diet in managing specific health conditions or fostering sustainable and positive relationships with food.

Kaila recognises that the value of food extends beyond nutrition; it plays a critical role in a person’s quality of life, emotional health, and social connectedness. Through her holistic practice, Kaila uses Health at Every Size and Non-Diet principles to support clients in nurturing a positive relationship with food and their bodies. She also provides regular, goal-oriented reviews to help clients maintain progress and adjust care as needed, ensuring their evolving needs are met over time.

Kaila is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and a full member of Dietitians Australia who graduated with a Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics (Honours) from the University of Newcastle.
Outside of work, Kaila leads an active lifestyle, enjoying running, reformer Pilates, tennis, and gym workouts. Having grown up in a coastal town, she values time by the beach with family and friends, often with a coffee or sweet treat in hand.

Kaila looks forward to connecting with the local community and supporting clients on their journey to independence and improved health through a reablement-focused approach.
